Six-day immersion into the heart of Miriam’s unique format, Nava Dance. We will draw deep inspiration from the movement and cycles of the sea and allow it to inspire our dance, exploring the circles, spirals and cycles found in our physical body, as well as the universal body. Each day will include technique, theory, improvisation and choreography in the Nava style.

Nava Dance is rooted in Central Asian aesthetics and movement and also incorporates embodied ritual and contemporary dance practices. Central to Nava format is the notion of embodied intention, and the ability to transform emotional, mental and spiritual states through movement layered with ritual and meaning. Ultimately the intention of the dance practice is to inspire a holistic journey of personal transformation, as well as empower the body with a comprehensive and elaborate dance language.

This immersion is geared towards intermediate level dancers wanting to deepen in Nava Dance format, learn traditional sources in Central Asian dance as well as cultivate more awareness in one’s own physical potential as a dancer.
